Compression Bags Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting

If the vacuum bag leaks air, loses compression, or fails to stay compressed, please follow this systematic guide to identify and resolve the issue. Vacuum storage bags rely on a completely sealed environment. Any air leakage caused by zipper gaps, valve issues, dirt, moisture, or improper packing may affect performance.

Initial Check: Air Leakage & Compression Failure

  • Check whether the zipper sealing strips are clean and free from dust, hair, lint, or debris.
  • Check whether the air valve is fully closed after vacuuming.
  • Inspect the valve area for dust, loose fit, or sealing obstruction.
  • Ensure bulky or non-breathable items are not directly blocking the air valve from inside the bag.
  • Check whether the bag is overfilled, which may create zipper strain or incomplete sealing.

Installation & Sealing Precautions

  • Before sealing, ensure the zipper strips (“bone strips”) are completely clean.
  • In cold weather, allow the bag to rest at room temperature for approximately 30 minutes before sealing.
  • Leave 5–10 cm of space between packed items and the zipper edge.
  • Use the sealing clip and slide firmly along the zipper 2–3 times to ensure a complete seal.
  • After vacuuming, rotate the valve tightly closed to prevent slow air leakage.

Troubleshooting Test

To confirm whether the issue is caused by sealing or a product defect, perform the following test:

The 24-Hour Flat Surface Test

  • Seal and vacuum the bag normally.
  • Place it on a flat, clean surface without moving it for 24 hours.

Analyzing Results

  • If the bag remains compressed → the original issue was likely caused by improper sealing, dust, or packing method.
  • If the bag gradually reinflates → clean the zipper and valve thoroughly, dry them completely, and test again.
  • If the bag still leaks after proper cleaning and resealing → the bag may require further support.

What You Can Do

  1. Remove all stored items from the bag.
  2. Inspect the bag for tears, punctures, or visible physical damage.
  3. Clean the zipper strips and valve area thoroughly.
  4. Ensure all surfaces are completely dry.
  5. Repack items, leaving enough space from the zipper edge.
  6. Seal the zipper firmly using the slider 2–3 times.
  7. Vacuum again and close the valve tightly.
If the bag still fails to maintain compression after cleaning, drying, and resealing, please contact support. Providing photos of the zipper seal and valve area will help us determine whether the issue is related to sealing, usage, or product condition.
